The aim is to use a familiar children's song (The Hokey Pokey) along with some physical movement to explore vocabulary of different languages!

For example, after singing the song in English, the next time around might go...
You put your mano in,
You put your mano out,
You put your mano in,
And you shake it all about.
You do the hokey pokey,
and you turn yourself around.
That's what it's all about!
You put your cabeza (head) in
You put your pie (foot) in
You put your codo (elbow) in
You put your hombro (shoulder) in
You put your rodilla (knee) in
You put your cadera (hip) in
You put your trasero (derriere) in
You put your cuerpo ([whole] body) in
Benefits: Active, familiar song for most children, engages entire group*, can span various languages (teacher can choose language and use a translation tool), can tie into a lesson in the culture that uses that particular language
*Modifications can be made for students with disabilities (i.e. everyone can do the movements from a seated position, students can label little people cutouts and then make the paper person to "dance" as the student sings)
